EcoVadis Gives Packsize Silver
Packsize is happy to announce that we have earned a Silver CSR Rating from EcoVadis.
What is EcoVadis?
Large, multinational organizations want to ensure their suppliers have responsible policies toward environmental and social issues. However, complex regulations and rapidly evolving standards make evaluating a company’s Corporate Social Responsibility too demanding to handle internally. That’s where EcoVadis comes in.
EcoVadis is an organization with the goal of improving environmental and social practices of companies by leveraging the influence of global supply chains. By providing reliable ratings and easy to use monitoring tools, EcoVadis allows companies to manage risks and innovate their global supply chains. The EcoVadis methodology analyzes a company’s CSR with 21 criteria across four themes: environment, social, ethic, and supply chain.
About CSR and what it means to us
Corporate Social Responsibility refers to sustainable development issues applied to businesses.
The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) defines Corporate Social Responsibility as “the continuing commitment by business to contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the community and society at large.”
It’s also a founding principle for Packsize CEO Hanko Kiessner who wanted to prove that other companies can be sustainable, save money, and deliver a superior customer experience all at the same time. “Our founding principle is to not do business at the expense of others,” he says. “I realized I needed to live that mission statement as an individual.”
Tom Lamb, Packsize’s Global VP of Quality & Operational Excellence says, “Packsize is transparent with its social and environmental efforts across our day-to-day business activities. EcoVadis gives us standards to work against and meet so that we can continually improve our social and environmental performance. We are thrilled to receive their Silver rating for 2015.”
