This year, our Christmas donation goes to Plant-for-the-Planet - a brilliant organisation initiated by a little boy who had a small yet impactful idea: What if we planted trees to offset CO2 emissions?
In 2007, 9-year-old Felix Finkbeiner had an idea, today Plant-for-the-Planet is a global movement with an ambitious goal: to fight the climate crisis by planting trees around the world. Felix formulated his vision as follows: Children could plant one million trees in every country on earth and thereby offset CO2 emissions all on their own, while adults are still talking about doing it. Each tree binds a CO2 intake of 10 kg per year. Today, with the help of adults, Plant-for-the-Planet has already planted more than 13,6 billion trees!
