It was December 21 and only a few days before Christmas. Goldie—a doll with a blue dress and golden hair—was alone and a long way from home. On a family trip, her child lost her. Without Goldie, the child would be sad. Plus, it was Goldie’s job to protect her child from the monsters in the closet. With determination to get to her child, Goldie started the long trek home.
Goldie traveled for some time, she knew where she needed to go, but wasn’t certain if she would make it in time for Christmas. It wasn’t too long before she came into town with three workshops.
“Maybe one of these factories could help me get home,” she thought. She came upon the largest of the factories and knocked on a big red door. She entered when no one responded and found a large bear at work. Goldie asked if he could help her get home. The bear agreed to help and he pulled out a box twice as big as Goldie. Goldie wanted to get home, but when she thought about how she would jostle around in the oversized box while it was in transit, she wasn’t sure she’d make it home in one piece. The bear assured her he had plenty of packing peanuts. Goldie thanked him for his offer, but declined and left.
She headed towards a second factory smaller than the first. She knocked on a medium-sized yellow door; when no one answered, she walked right in. Inside she found a second bear working. Goldie asked the bear if she could help her get home. The bear said she could but that her box supply was too small, and she had other orders to fulfill. She offered to let Goldie stay with her, but it would be a week or so before the right-sized box would come in. But by then it would be after Christmas. Goldie thanked her, but declined and left.
She headed toward the third factory that was smaller than the second. She knocked on a small green door, and when no one answered, she walked right in. Inside she found a third bear working. Goldie asked the bear if he could help her get home. This bear had a Packsize machine and was more than happy to help Goldie get home for Christmas. With a Packsize machine, he created a custom box to ensure a comfortable ride and no chance for damage. When Goldie saw the box she thought, ‘This box is just right.’ The bear helped Goldie in the box and shipped Goldie home.
In only a few days, Goldie arrived home, and just in time for Christmas. Her child was happy.
